Memorial Day Weekend 2015

If only every weekend was a 4 day weekend, I wouldn't mind going to work so much.

We started out Friday with me taking Kate to school for her last exam.
Alex got lucky and took her exams early so she didn't have to go on Friday.
And I also didn't get a last day of school pic of her!

I went to the doctor while Kate took her exam.
Just a short checkup, nothing big.
They found the heartbeat, which freaks me out everytime.
I have this horrible idea each time that they aren't going to find it.
And that baby likes to hide so it always takes a minute.
My blood pressure was a little higher than it has been, but nothing to worry about yet.
I don't actually become high risk for pre-eclampsia until 20 weeks.
So we are just watching it for now and I have my follow up with the high risk doc at 18 weeks.

Once I picked Kate up, we went on a date to eat some Mexican food. Our favorite.

She looks so grown up. I can't even handle it. She just kept reminding me that she was a 7th grader now....as if I could forget!

Friday night we hung out at the house and the girls played with water balloons.
This is their latest obsession.
And I have to say, it's HILARIOUS to watch.
Those girls are some kind of goofy.

They also got out their BB guns to shoot some of the water balloons.
FH and I just sit in our chairs in the driveway and laugh.
They like to entertain and we like to be entertained. So it works.
They also entertained our neighbors who were sitting on their porch watching.
I'm sure they think we are crazy...especially once we cranked up the music
and the girls started line dancing. :)

Saturday, we had to go buy a new dryer because ours went out.
Super lame.
Actually, the water balloons might have been Saturday and the dryer Friday.
I can't really remember. But it's all the same weekend....

It's kinda nice that we had such a long weekend that I can't even keep the days straight.

Saturday and Sunday we spent a lot of time on Alex's room.
It was hot pink and awful.
She loves pink but wanted a change, and I was totally down with that plan.
This is how it looked before.

Told ya it was pink.

We had to do a layer of primer, then 2 layers of paint.
It was such a pain.
And everytime that I want to paint, I kinda freak out after the first coat.
I just can't handle the streaks and how awful it looks.
FH has to calm me down by reminding me that it will turn out fine.
He's always right, but I need to be talked off the ledge. :)

Here is the after.

I'm so excited with how it turned out.
It looks much more grown up than the pink.
Just don't look too closely at the painting......

Did I mention that when I told FH that he had to paint, I also mentioned the grass needed to be cut?
Bless his heart.
I worked that man hard all weekend and he hardly complained.

Luckily Alex really liked to paint and was a lot of help.
And Kate really wanted to make some extra cash so she cut the yard.
Our entire yard!
She was just going to do the backyard, but I was supervising her while FH was painting so I kept
talking her into doing more.
I'd offer her like $2 more to cut another section and it kept adding up until she did the whole thing.
And she did an amazing job!
Now I just have to get her to do it next time without charging me.

***longest post ever. sorry about that.***

Sunday, after the delivery of the dryer, we headed to the Ripley Waterpark.
And the girls had a blast!!!
They went down the slide at least 4,000 times.
FH went down it twice with them.
And I sat in a chair and worked on my sunburn for 4 hours.

They were not happy when it was time to go.
But I told them we would be back!

Monday, we finished up painting.
And I slathered Aloe on myself every 30 minutes.
I am beyond burnt!
But the girls aren't, so that says something about my parenting skills.
:)

All in all, it was an amazing weekend to kick off summer!
And I am less than happy to be back at work today.
Oh well, the bills have to get paid somehow....

Tummy Tuesday #4

How far along? 16 weeks

Sleep? Not too bad lately. I'm def getting a lot more energy back, but I still require a nap.

Maternity clothes? Yes.

Best moment this week? Having a long weekend with the family. We got a ton accomplished and
enjoyed spending a lot of time together.

Miss anything? Not too much.

Movement? None yet, anxiously waiting.

Size of the baby? an avocado, 3.5 ounces

Food cravings? nothing new.

Morning sickness? nope.

Gender? unknown. Although I've had a few people tell me that FH&I should find out and just keep it a secret.....so that's an idea. We'll see! ;) Either way, no one will know. Mwhahahaha.

Bed rest? nope.

Limitations? none really. In fact, this past weekend was the first time in awhile that I haven't felt completely helpless. I had a lot of energy and was able to do just about everything I wanted to.

Pregnancy Symptoms? nothing new.

Wedding rings? still on.

Looking forward to? We have our big ultrasound next week and they will do a test on the umbilical cord to tell us what my chances are of getting pre-eclampsia again. I'm anxious to see what that test says and to see baby on the big screen. :)

Happy Tummy Tuesday!

My Kid is Trying to Kill Me

Alex informed me that she is going to try out for cheerleading next year.
She just made the show choir last week.
And of course, she will be doing cross country again.

That's three activities all at once.

Did I mention that I will, hopefully, be around 8 or 9 months pregnant at that time?

Oh, and Kate will be playing fall softball.
I'm praying that they don't overlap.

The girls had awards day last week and guess who couldn't go?
I was so bummed.
Normally I would have gone but I'm trying so hard to save up vacation time for
when the baby gets here that I don't like using any.

I thought it would just be a few honor roll and citizenship awards, but man was I wrong.

Apparently, they do it up big in Middle School with a bunch of new awards.

I was really proud of both of the girls for all their hardwork this year.

Kate got some kind of math award- don't judge, I can't remember what it was.
And a community service award.

Alex got community service and honor roll, another one that I can't remember, and an extra special award. She got an award for having the most points EVER earned in Student Council.
They can earn points by volunteering, saying the prayer at school, doing the devotional, working
on the bulletin board. Basically anything they do that isn't required. And that girl treated those points
like they were made of gold.

Apparently you are only required to get like 50 or something like that and Alex got around 400.
#overachiever

Oh and just as a side note, the girls got me a selfie stick for Mother's Day. Clearly we had to document it with a duck face/peace sign selfie. :)

I'm gonna enjoy every single minute of this summer because I have a feeling 7th grade is going
to rock my world.

Tummy Tuesday #3

Last week, I got an email that said, "Where's Tummy Tuesday? It's Wednesday."
#busted

Honestly, I'm trying to let this pregnancy fly by without thinking too much about it.
I need people to not make a big deal about it.
Because no matter what, until I have a fat baby in my arms, I still can't imagine actually coming
home with a baby.
Maybe that sounds awful, but I'm a realist.
And I know that my chances of getting sick early on again are pretty high.
It just seems to help when I don't count the days.....
So you just might get a Tummy Tuesday post every other Tuesday.
We shall see. :)

Moving on.....

How far along? 15 weeks

Sleep? Meh. It could always be worse. I find myself laying in bed often, unable to get comfortable.
Obviously I know this is only the beginning. But I can say that I am finally starting to get some of my
energy back....now I can't say that I have tons of energy or anything, but it's better than it has been.

Maternity Clothes? I'm gonna have to venture out and buy some new shirts soon. I wasn't planning on buying anymore maternity clothes since I have a lot, but most of my maternity shirts shrunk a little
because, well, because I like to shrink things.

Best moment this week? Last day of school is this Friday!!!! I'm so excited about that.

Miss anything? Just working out. I think I should stop putting this question down because my answer never changes....

Movement? Not yet, but I'm super excited about this hopefully happening soon.

Size of the baby? a navel orange, about 2.5 ounces

Food cravings? Fruits and vegeatbles, which is so weird to me. and still chocolate milk daily.

Morning sickness? None lately. Yay!!

Gender? Still Team Green!

Bed Rest? Nope. But this is one of my major fears. Unless they can wheel me to work in my bed, I will have problems figuring this out if it happens. Praying that it doesn't. :)

Limitations? Nothing out of the norm. I can't do rollercoasters or a ropes course, which are both possibly on the agenda for this weekend.....which stinks. But as Kate said "You can just hold our stuff for us." Gee, thanks.

Pregnancy Symptoms? Can't complain. All in all, I've been feeling pretty great.

Wedding Rings? Still on.

Looking forward to? the last day of school!!!

Happy Tummy Tuesday. See ya next time.

District Champs

I'm so sad that softball is over!
But I am glad that K got her 6th grade year out of the way.
She said she was so excited to be a 7th grader on the team next year,
because 7th graders get to sit on the bucket in the dugout.
Apparently if you are in the 6th grade, you get told to move.....

**the 6th graders. aka the ones who can't sit on the bucket**

We couldn't have asked for a better year for our softball team.
We ended up only losing one game all season and we are district champs!
I love, love, love cheering for some softball.

Kate had a good season.
She didn't get to play a ton, but that's part of being a 6th grader, I guess.
She played outfield some and got to run the bases a lot.
I'm so proud of how well she did since most of the girls had played travel ball,
which she hasn't, and if you know travel ball, you know that's a huge advantage.

This was our first year playing softball with the school and so we weren't really sure what to expect.
Our Varsity girls won the state tournament last year, so we knew it was hardcore,
but we hadn't ever watched middle school play.
Between practice every day and double headers sometimes twice a week,
we were exhausted once the season ended. But of course we already miss it!

So proud of those TRA Lady Rebels!!!

Until next year. :)

Tummy Tuesday #2

Sorry I skipped last week.
I'm having a little trouble getting it together lately...
but softball and track both end this week so if I can survive the next couple of days,
I can finally rest some after work each day. And I'm sure I'll be bored.

How far along? 13 weeks

I know, it's ridiculous. I actually find myself sucking in so that people won't give me that "you are too big to only be that far along" mess....I'm just not ready for it.
If you see a preggo, tell her she looks amazing and tiny,
and then buy her a doughnut.
Trust me.

Sleep? It's hard to get comfortable, but most nights I'm so exhausted that I pass right out.

Maternity Clothes? In maternity pants, but still just rocking some too small tshirts mainly.

Best moment this week? I have a feeling this is going to be on Thursday.....2 nights of late night
softball watching sprinkled in with work and homework and regular house stuff, makes a Mom tired.
On Thursday, I can finally relax. :)

Miss anything? burning calories, for sure. I wish I could be a preggo that works out, but I keep telling myself that should be the last thing I worry about.

Movement? None that I can feel yet...but I am anxiously awaiting this. I remember how great it felt to have Harper moving all around in there.

Size of the baby? a peach, 0.81 ounces. It's amazing how fast this baby is growing!!

Food cravings? anything cheesy and chocolate milk on the daily. Which is funny because I didn't drink any choc milk at all with Harper, but I chugged it with K&A just like I do now.

Morning sickness? some. nothing too drastic and it normally goes away shortly after I get to work. I do get super nauseous if I go too long without eating though.....or if I ride in a car for long.

Gender? still feel like it's a girl. still totally content with the idea of either. still not finding out early.

Bed rest? Nope.

Limitations? Nothing more than your average preggo.

Pregnancy Symptoms? just the normal stuff, sprinkled in with a good amount of car sickness. you do NOT want me riding in your car....and you dont want to be with me driving to an away game.
{Just ask my kids...}

Wedding Rings? still on.

Looking forward to? going to the doctor on Friday, but it will be kinda uneventful since there is no ultrasound. I've gotten spoiled since I've had so many already. oh yeah, and SUMMERTIME!!!

Only 2 and 1/2 weeks of school. Can't believe it's almost time for another fun summer and that my girls are going to be in 7th grade! Slow down time. :)

Happy Tummy Tuesday. See ya next week.
